I'm turning 23 years old today and I'm celebrating with my long-standing birthday tradition--pancakes!
I feel normal, mostly. I don't feel 23 yet, but we never really feel our age until much later, but I'm just happy to celebrate. It does feel different though, without my friends and family, considering the current state of everything, but it is what it is, and I'm happy for what I have now.
I also got a new laptop for an early birthday gift from my mom a few days ago! A lot more suited for making art than my previous Mac (sorry Apple, but you're just not cut out for art programs without your fans going nuts). I've been using it a lot lately and already love it, but since I haven't used a PC in a long time, it's gonna take some getting used to.
My other birthday tradition is a strawberry milkshake--my favorite!--but it's weird to think that the last time I had one was on this very day exactly one year ago with my friends. It's so weird to think back to that time with the context we all have now.
I hope we can go back to normal birthdays for everyone soon--please wear your mask and stay safe!
